Mont Kiara FC News Update

May 7, 2010

Here are a few updates

1) Mont Kiara FC is set to expand and have players age 18 and above to join us in our setup. As at least half of the team is not eligible anymore for U16, this group of U18 will be the core of the club and hopefully will be able to participate in Damansara League by 2011.

2) MKFC is currently working on the new website. We have already owned the domain, and work on the new website is on progress. You can preview the website here

Still alot to work on the website !

3) To prevent new players from joining us for the sake of getting their hands of our nice training kit and then no where to be seen after the 1st month, Mont Kiara FC have set up a new ruling for all new players.  All new players will now need to pay for the training kit. It will cost RM 55 and this is mandatory. For players that have lost their training kit, they will also need to pay RM55 to get a new kit.

Mont Kiara FC unbeaten run came to an end

April 27, 2010

After staying unbeaten since the start of the year, Mont Kiara FC unbeaten run came to an end, losing 3-2 to SMAKL. SMAKL is a local school which came runners up in the U18 Sentul District inter school championship and will represent the district in the State competition.

The game was played under dark clouds but MKFC started brightly by taking the lead on the 10th minute. A poor clearance by SMAKL defender was pick up by Nathan Pike and he slots it home with a stiff grounder. Not many chances was created by both teams where most of the possession was won and lost at the middle of the park. However in the 25th minute, SMAKL drew level. A defensive mistake allowed SMAKL launch a quick counter attack and gave Puvan no chance to make a save. 1-1 at half time.

2nd half, SMAKL have more possession of the ball and MKFC players looks lethargic. Our midfield lost possession too easily and did not win any tackles where SMAKL puts on the pressure whenever MKFC’s players have the ball. SMAKL took the lead early in the 2nd half from a corner. A lapse of concentration allows a SMAKL player sneak to the near post and scored from a tight angle. SMAKL scored another goal 10 minutes later to make it 3-1. Although Osama Saeed score late in the 2nd half to make it 3-2, it is a little too late for a fight back.

MKFC did not play badly,  however some defensive mistakes and lack of tactical discipline cost MKFC the game. There will be lots to work on in training and MKFC shall have a return match soon.

Osama Saeed saves MKFC with last minute strike

April 19, 2010

Osama Saeed scored in the dying minutes to salvage a 1-1 draw against SJCSC.  In a game of 3 halves, SJCSC took the lead against the run of play in the 2nd half, however they finally caved in after waves and waves of MKFC attack through out the 3rd half of the game.

This match was play out at USJ 12 football ground which the field is in a shocking condition. 70% of the field was dirt with no grass. The ground was hard and bumpy resulting MKFC fail to play their usual passing game. Failure to adapt to the condition prove costly as well as missing all the clear cut chances.

First half finish 0-0 with Rohan Jonathan missing a penalty on the 16th minute.  MKFC had most of the ball possession but lacking the killer pass. MKFC created more chances on the 2nd half with the best one fell to Brannon who fail to hit the target from 5 meters out. Fareez hit a beautiful curling freekick which beats the keeper but not the crossbar.  Puvan made a fantastic one on one save to keep the scoreline 0-0 at the end of the 2nd half.

On the 3rd half, MKFC again created more chances. Nathan Pike completely miss the target with the goalkeeper to beat and again had his shot save by SJCSC keeper after his great run from the left. Nathan Pike was guilty again for failing to connect to an open goal following a  low cross from the right. Ibrahim also had his shot save at close range after making a great run to fired the ball from far post. And against the run of play, SJCSC scored. 1-0 down with 10 minutes to go.

On a positive note, MKFC kept on their attacking play and was rewarded a well deserve goal. It came with 3 minutes to play when Osama stabbed home with a low hard drive that finally beats the keeper.

1-1 it ends and it did mark a slight improvement for MKFC. Good news is MKFC is still unbeaten in regulation time since new year and hopefully it will continue with this weekend cruncher against USJ One at Stadium MPSJ
